Your old boiler is burning money.
Boilers from the 1990s and 2000s typically run at 60–70% efficiency — for every euro of oil or gas, up to 40 cent goes up the flue. A modern A-rated condensing boiler turns over 90% of the fuel into heat, which is why a swap alone can knock a quarter or more off the heating bill.
Minded well, a new boiler lasts 10–15 years. And when it's eventually time for a heat pump, a well-run heating system makes that changeover cheaper too.

Why is there no boiler grant?
SEAI ended grants for fossil-fuel boilers in January 2025 — state money now backs heat pumps (€12,500) instead. We'll always show you both prices so you decide with the facts.
Should I just get a heat pump instead?
If your home is reasonably insulated and you can fund the after-grant price, usually yes — the running costs are far lower. If not, a good boiler now and a plan for later is a perfectly sound answer.
How long does a swap take?
A like-for-like swap is typically done in a day. Relocations or fuel changes take longer — the quote asks so the estimate is right.
Gas or oil — do you do both?
Yes, and LPG. The flow asks which fuel you're on.
What warranty comes with it?
Manufacturer warranties typically run 5–10 years depending on the model, and we register it for you — plus our own workmanship guarantee.
How often should a boiler be serviced?
Once a year — it keeps the manufacturer warranty valid, many home insurance policies expect it, and it's your carbon monoxide safety check. It also keeps efficiency up: a well-minded boiler holds its rating, a neglected one drifts down and burns money.
Will you service a boiler you didn't install?
Absolutely — gas or oil, whoever fitted it. Gas work is done by RGII-registered engineers, and you get the flue-gas test and cert either way.
Do I need a carbon monoxide alarm?
Yes — every home with a gas or oil boiler should have one. They cost about €20 in any hardware shop, and we check yours (or tell you to get one) at every service.
